Bursts of Color - Issue #1
Hello.
You're receiving this because you are a start-up leader working with Burst Capital. In the course of most weeks I run across something that seems relevant to many of you... e.g., products to consider, related news, job candidates, or interesting things I've read.
I've emailed you sporadically with such things in the past, so wanted to try a newsletter format for more consistency. Hopefully some of these notes will add a little sunshine to your day. Thus the "Bursts of Color" name.
I will experiment with this for a few weeks and then re-evaluate based on what you tell me. So yes, please bring on the feedback.
Want to try Outdoor Ads?
I've had good experiences with outdoor media, so was pleased to invest in AdQuick a couple years back and then again in their recently announced Series A.
AdQuick makes it easy to book billboards, subways ads, bus wraps, etc... from a single location to a national campaign.
If you or your marketing team wants to learn more, feel free to ping them directly or lmk if you want an intro. For Burst Capital friends, they will waive all fees on the first campaign. Here's a deck with more color.
Blog Post: Building a Sales Team from 0-10
I posted this piece about building new sales teams a couple of weeks ago. The TL;DR version is:
When a sales team has fewer than 10 reps, you have a lousy science experiment that's overly reliant on a few individuals, so you have to find a way to grow. If your nascent sales team results look at all promising, keep hiring fast - and firing fast - until you can get to a more statistically significant scale.
