Bursts of Color - Offices & Offsites
Despite high vacancy rates in office space, it's often still remarkably hard for startups to find a good place to work consistently. Co-working passes are solid for the smallest, flexible teams -- and traditional offices with five-year leases are fine for established companies -- but there aren't often great choices in between those stages.
Enter Codi, which offers office-as-a-service for startups with at least 5-10 employees in the SF Bay Area & NYC. They help match startups with private offices at the most flexible lease terms, from one day per week to full-time, fully serviced by the Codi team. Since we at Burst are investors in the company, Codi is offering this 25% discount on first-month rent to its fellow startups. Offsites
For those teams with remote employees, I'm a big fan of getting everyone together as frequently as possible for a combination of planning, co-working and good old fashioned team-bonding. In talking with many of you who are hosting such things, my sense is that the current median offsite is about one week per quarter.
And if you’re looking for offsite locations in SF or NY, Codi can help with that too :)
Mailing Addresses
For companies whose physical offices are likely to move every few months or year, Stable offers a consistent address in SF, NY, Miami, Austin or Delaware. Your unique address can be used with the government, IRS, State, vendors, and more. For as little as $49/mo, it's an option to manage your business with scanned mail, forwarded packages, deposited checks and such. We are investors in Stable too, and yes, we use them for our Burst Capital mail.
Reports of San Francisco's Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
And on a related note: if you haven't been to SF for a few years, come visit this summer and say hello. I think you'll find the parks, stadiums, museums -- and yes, even the tech events -- are all full of people and surrounded by the area's natural beauty as usual.
