Bursts of Color - Our New Partner

I am delighted to share the news that Mike Ghaffary has joined Burst Capital as our newest General Partner.

Mike is my longtime colleague, friend and collaborator, so this new partnership is a natural next step. Many of you already know Mike well, as he has frequently co-invested with us before… including in several of your companies.

Mike’s Career In Startups

Mike grew up in Cupertino, where he started coding and working on startups as a teenager. He co-founded several venture-backed startups including Stitcher, which was acquired by SiriusXM. At Yelp, where we first worked together, Mike led Business and Corporate Development for six years before moving into VC. He has been a prolific investor since then, first as an angel and then as a General Partner at Canvas Ventures.

Our Complementary Partnership

Burst Capital is now a close-knit partnership of four. We have all been working together for over fifteen years… and we still like each other! Beyond our shared history, we each bring our own unique networks, interests and expertise. For instance, our functional strengths are complementary:

• Mike: Business Development, M&A

• Geoff: Sales, Marketing, HR

• Rob: Finance, Administration

• Wendy: Revenue Operations, CX, Trust & Safety
